Measuring heat consumption with RecraPlan Heat meters

At RecraPlan, we have expanded our measurement solutions to even more accurately measure the consumption of heat in a space or building. In addition to our energy and gas meters, we now also offer heat meters, which accurately register the amount of heat used in a space or building.

When a space is heated, gas, electricity, or another energy source is used. Traditionally, we measure how much electricity or gas is consumed in a certain period. This energy is converted into heat, which is then transported to buildings or specific spaces. But how do you calculate how much of this total heat is actually used in each individual space? This is where our heat meters come in.

Our heat meters register the amount of heat flowing into a space and flowing back out. The difference between these two values is the amount of heat used to heat the space.

This detailed information is very valuable. You gain insight into the specific heat consumption per space, which helps optimize the heating system and increase energy efficiency. Additionally, this information can be used to accurately allocate heating costs to tenants or users of the space.

With the heat meters from RecraPlan, you have control over your heat consumption and can manage more efficiently and cost-effectively.

How does the RecraPlan Heat Meter work

How does the RecraPlan Heat Meter work

Installing the heat meter is relatively easy. The meter is installed on the supply line of the heating system, such as for underfloor heating or the supply of radiators. In addition, an extra sensor is installed on the return line. With this combination, the consumption per room can be accurately calculated.

Our smart software performs these calculations and can be fully customized to your specific preferences. For example, there is an alarm function available that alerts when consumption exceeds a certain threshold. In addition, there is a partner module available, which allows, for example, the landlord of a property or space to view their consumption.

At RecraPlan, we measure heat usage every 10 minutes, resulting in very accurate measurements. If there are multiple meters or values, this data is collected and displayed in an organized manner. This allows you to not only see the total consumption, but also zoom in on the consumption per room in detail.

Need for Measuring Heat Consumption and Benefits

Need for Measuring Heat Consumption and Benefits

Measuring heat consumption is crucial for both private and business use. It provides insight into how efficiently spaces are heated and helps identify areas where improvements are needed. Here are some key reasons why measuring heat consumption is essential and what it can deliver:

1. Energy Saving and Cost Reduction: By accurately measuring the heat consumption per room, you can identify and address inefficiencies in the heating system. This results in significant energy savings and lower energy costs. The detailed data can also help with better budgeting and planning.

2. Environmental Friendliness: Reduced energy consumption contributes to lower CO2 emissions. By using only the necessary amount of heat, you contribute to a more sustainable future. This is not only good for the environment but can also contribute to a positive image for companies looking to reduce their ecological footprint.

3. Improvement of Comfort: By monitoring heat consumption, you can ensure that each space is optimally heated. This increases comfort for residents or employees, which can lead to higher satisfaction and productivity.

4. Accurate Billing: For landlords and building managers, measuring heat consumption per room is essential for fair and accurate billing of energy costs. Tenants only pay for the heat they actually consume, leading to transparency and satisfaction.

5. Preventive Maintenance: By regularly monitoring heat consumption, deviations can be quickly identified. This allows you to intervene early in potential problems with the heating system, preventing costly repairs and downtime.

6. Optimization of Heating Systems: The detailed insights obtained from measuring heat consumption can be used to optimize heating systems. This may involve rebalancing systems, improving insulation, or investing in more efficient technologies.

Measuring heat consumption with RecraPlan heat meters provides valuable data that enables you to use energy more efficiently, save costs, protect the environment, and increase comfort. By investing in accurate measuring solutions, you create a future where we combat heat waste.
