It was a beautiful Monday in September. After a warm, stuffy day, the clouds began to gather for a massive thunderstorm, as often happens in the Netherlands. The day ended with thunder, lightning, and, as has been increasingly the case lately, a lot of rain. The restaurant guests were comfortably inside or snug in their caravans, waiting for the spectacle to pass.
Fortunately, the downpour didn't last long, and soon the clouds made way for a beautiful late summer evening. But then, in the sanitary building, the fuses had blown due to the storm — precisely the ones that powered the hot water boiler. The temperature of the water began to drop, and the showers became slowly colder and colder.
One of the guests, who was relaxing in front of his caravan, decided it was time for a refreshing shower. He grabbed his towel, greeted his wife, and looked once more at the last clouds that were drifting away. "After such a muggy day, a nice shower is just what I need," he thought. Whistling, he walked to the building and chose his favorite shower. Although all showers were the same, he still had his favorite spot.
He undressed and turned on the tap. The water didn't feel very warm. "Oh, that will change soon," he thought, but no, the shower was getting colder and colder. His mood soured. With a grumpy look, he turned off the tap and was about to stomp to the reception. But... fortunately, none of this happened. This is actually what happened:
Because... a sensor from RecraPlan was connected to the hot water system. When the value dropped below the normal level, an alert was immediately sent to the technical service. An employee jumped into the club car, drove to the sanitary building, and inspected the technical room. "Aha, a fuse is out!" After resetting the power and checking the system, the hot water supply quickly restored itself.
The man with the towel came around the corner and greeted the technical service employee. "Have a nice evening!" "You too, and enjoy a lovely shower," replied the employee with a smile.
Behind every data point lies a story. Why does a sensor register an anomaly? What is the cause, and how can we solve it as effectively as possible? This time we share the story of a hot water registration in a sanitary building at a holiday park in Gelderland.
